Heaps Normal (UK) Privacy Policy
Hello. We're Heaps Normal Ltd (UK) – still Heaps Normal, just with a new postcode.
Here's how we protect your personal data and respect your privacy over here in the UK.
1. Our role in your privacy
1.1 This policy applies if you’re a Heaps Normal customer, business partner, or just having a cheeky browse of our UK website.
1.2 Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we’re responsible for how we handle your personal data.
1.3 "Personal data" means any info that identifies you – or could. Let’s call it your Deets.
Our responsibilities
1.4 We’re committed to keeping your Deets safe and using them properly under UK law.
1.5 If you share someone else’s Deets with us (or someone shares yours), we’ll only use them for the reason they were shared in the first place.
Your responsibilities
1.6 Give this policy a proper read.
1.7 If you share your Deets with us, you’re telling us you have the right to do so and you’re cool with us handling them as laid out here.
2. When and how we collect your Deets
2.1 If you're just visiting our website, rest easy – we don’t collect your Deets without your knowledge. Any info we do get from cookies or similar tools is anonymised.
2.2 Sometimes you give us your Deets. Sometimes they’re gathered automatically.
Here’s how that happens:
(a) Directly from you – through chats, emails, order forms, sign-ups, or cookies on our site.
(b) Public sources – like social media, directories, or your public website.
3. Keeping your Deets safe and sound
We store your Deets securely and take steps to keep them that way. We only hold on to them for as long as they’re needed.
4. Types of Deets we collect and hold
Here’s the kind of stuff we might collect:
(a) Contact info: Name, email, phone, address, company info – the basics.
(b) Preferences: What you like, what you buy, how often you sip a Quiet XPA.
(c) Online activity: Cookies, IP address, browsing behaviour on our site – the digital breadcrumbs you leave behind.
4.2 We don’t collect your payment details ourselves. Our third-party providers might (to speed things up at checkout), but we don’t keep that info.
5. Why we collect your Deets
We don’t share your Deets for unrelated reasons – no sneaky business. Here’s why we might use them:
(a) To run our business and connect with you.
(b) To keep you in the loop about what we’re up to.
(c) To send you ads or updates we think you’ll like.
(d) To improve our website and how we do things.
(e) For our internal admin, research and marketing brainwaves.
(f) To meet legal requirements and defend our rights (like trademarks and stuff).
We may share your Deets with:
(a) Our crew – affiliated companies or contractors.
(b) Our partners – trusted third-party service providers.
When we do, we expect them to protect your Deets too – but check their privacy policies if you want the full story.
6. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We might update this policy from time to time. If we do, we’ll post the new version here – so pop back now and again to see what’s new.
7. Retention, access and correction
7.1 We only keep your Deets as long as needed for the purposes in section 5.
7.2 We aim to keep your Deets accurate. If something’s out of date, just let us know and we’ll fix it.
7.3 Want to know what Deets we hold about you? Email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
7.4 For access or corrections, hit us up at: hey@heapsnormal.com
8. International data transfers
8.1 Sometimes your Deets may be processed outside the UK (like in the US, Australia or India) if our partners or platforms are based there.
8.2 Wherever your Deets go, we take steps to ensure they’re protected under UK law (like using Standard Contractual Clauses).
9. Got concerns?
9.1 If you think we’ve dropped the ball on privacy, please email our Privacy Officer (details below) and we’ll do our best to sort it out.
9.2 If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at: www.ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.
